Summary:
Daily tasks would include but not limited to, communication with the territory engineer to map, post and complete cable assignments and data into the Outside Plant mapping databases.
Complete close-out and post work orders within mapping system.
Run reports for accounting and marketing for daily, monthly and quarterly reports.

PRIMARY DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing outside plant records in mapping systems.
This includes design, drawings, CAD, as-builts and work orders.
Responsible for assisting in maintaining outside plant records.
IE Circuit IDs, highway permits and pole licenses.
Become proficient in understanding copper and fiber network construction and design.
The team is expected to develop a thorough understanding of fiber optic specifications.
Responsible for various on-going GIS data migration and creation activities required to synchronize data between multiple live GIS databases & mapping tools.
Assist with system integration wherever possible to eliminate need to manually enter the same data more than once.
Assist with development of new & better GIS tools.
Qualifications:
Knowledgeable in outside plant engineering practices and the telecommunications industry.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Associate degree from a two-year college.
REQUIRED
Experience:
Two or more years of GIS / mapping experience with a preference that the experience has been in telecommunications or a related industry (i.
e.
public utility) REQUIRED SKILLS:
CAD, QCAD, M4 Organization Interpersonal Communication Knowledge of roadways and pole owners Multi-tasking Project Management Able to work alone or with a group Ability to read a map Work with.
